Denitrification of the Soil | Deep Dive into why this occurs and best practices to reduce this risk

The nitrogen nutrient is a challenging topic due to a variety of factors that change its bonding to the soil The nitrogen cycle also changes in its physical and chemical form. This creates nitrogen loss risks, lack of availability to the plant, and even its location in the soil and atmosphere. It can reside in the soil as ammonium with a positive charge or convert to different forms of nitrate as a negative charge. After that it can volatilize and become a gas, leaving the soil due to anaerobic bacteria to become lost in the atmosphere. Here is a brief deep dive to cover one piece of this puzzle. What is a fully developed node when staging R3 soybeans?

"R3" typically refers to a specific growth stage of the soybean plant. In soybean growth stages, the R3 stage is often known as the "beginning pod" stage, where pods first appear on the nodes of the plant's main stem. During this stage, the soybean plant is actively flowering and forming pods, which will eventually contain the soybean seeds.

June 26, 2023 In the Field Japanese Beetle Threshold Update
